Extensively restored Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 for saleWe offer for sale this beautiful Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 in top condition. The Ferrari was delivered new in Italy in 1962 and was extensively restored in the period from 1997 to 2014 by various professionals who specialize in the restoration of classic Ferraris. The restoration is recorded in invoices and an extensive photo report. There is also a Marcel Massini report documenting the history of the car.
The quality of the restoration is of a very high level and the car is in top condition both optically and technically. It is powered by the revised, matching numbers 3.0 liter V12 engine that is linked to a 4-speed manual gearbox with an overdrive on the 3rd and 4th gears. The Ferrari has disc brakes all around, and was one of the first production cars with independent front suspension. The engine is the famous Colombo V12 that delivers about 240 hp at 7000 rpm. Remarkable performance at the time for a 2+2.
The 250 GTE was also an important car for the future of Ferrari. The success of this model convinced Ferrari that there was a market for more practical, high-end sports cars. This led to the development of later 2+2 models such as the 330 GT 2+2 and the 365 GT 2+2.

Den första Ferrari väg bil var de 125 S introducerades 1947 och drivs av en 1,5 L V12 motor, eller hur?Tja det är inte riktigt så enkelt, Ferrari faktiskt producerar e Tipo 815, 1940 Tipo 815 ritades av ex-Alfa Romeo ingenjörer Alberto Massimino och Vittorio Bellentani och Enrico Nardi enligt Enzo sällskap men juridiska frågor med det tidigare intresse Alfa Romeo hindrade Ferrari från att lansera Ferrari marque vid den punkten.

Utan Chiti och Bizzarrini utvecklingen av vad som skulle bli den mest kvintessensen Ferrari och idag världens dyraste bil, 250 GTO, var vid en svängpunkt. 250 GTO projekt räddades av en ung ingenjör Mauro Forghieri och lång tid racing bodyman Sergio Scaglietti som klev in och tog över programmet med kända resultat.

I slutet av 60-talet Ferraris prototyper framgång fick ett abrupt stopp av en ny konkurrent, GT40. Ford vände sig till Lola för att producera en Ferrari slog långdistans racer efter Enzo hade klippt affären av med Henry Ford II gör det senare absolut koka av vrede. Samarbetet mellan Ford och Lola skapade den mäktiga Ford GT40 som gav Ferrari några tunga hits i Le Mans 24 framöver.
