LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302.

Ford’s performance machine, the Boss 302, was a direct competitor to Chevrolet’s Camaro Z/28, as it offered more performance on a reduced-weight chassis. It proved its worth on the track, winning the SCCA’s 1970 Trans-Am racing series, and it was quite popular in the showroom, as it offered customers a vehicle that was just as comfortable on the road as it was on the track. In a comparison test in their February 1970 issue, Car and Driver further praised the Boss’s street manners, stating that “it is quiet and exudes quality, very much like an expensive European GT car. The stiff suspension and high shock absorber control give it a very purposeful feel, and because the body doesn’t quiver or rattle when you hit a bump, the overall impression is most satisfying.”

This 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 was built at the Dearborn Assembly Plant on July, 8, 1970 and sent to Darald Peters Ford Inc in Raymond Illinois. From Factory, this Boss was equipped with several desirable features such as; Optional Axle ratio with factory oil cooler, the rare Detroit Locker Differential, Rear Deck Spoiler, Shaker Hood Scoop, Sport Slats, Power Steering, and AM Radio. This Mustang wears its factory Medium Lime Metallic Paint and it is in wonderful condition top to bottom. The interior is Black Vinyl Standard Bucket Seats, as it had when it left factory, and is also in wonderfully restored condition. It is powered by the Trans Am 302-4V Boss engine that is numbers matching, and has the mandatory 4-speed manual transmission. Accompanying this Boss and verifying this information is the full Marti Report. The owner’s manual, the Warranty Identification Card, the original Build Sheet, original Dealer Invoice, and Window Sticker are also present with the Mustang in a neatly organized binder.

The 1970 Boss 302 was and still is one of the most popular muscle cars of the era and this is an excellent opportunity to own a real, well and fully documented, numbers matching 302 that has benefited from a complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. Combined with the factory optional axle ratio with factory oil cooler and factory Detroit locker differential this is likely one of only a handful produced of a very rare and sought after Trans Am Mustang.
