Lancia Delta HF Integrale Final Edition 1995

To honor the Delta Integrale’s brilliant career, Lancia developed two run-out special editions. The first was the “Dealer's Collection” and the last was the “Edizione Finale”, or “Final Edition”. The former was reserved for Lancia dealers, mostly Italian even though the name was in English, and the later was reserved for the Japanese market, although the name was in Italian…

The Final Edition was developed for the Japanese market only where the Delta Integrale was immensely popular; around 4,000 had been imported into the country by 1994. It was the Japanese Lancia importer who created a wish list of specification to what the Final Edition needed to include for its Japanese customers. This made it one of the most highly specified Integrales available, with unique features including additional carbon fibre, various OMP upgrades, a push-button start, Eibach springs, anthracite wheels, and the now iconic HF stripe. Production was limited to just 250 numbered vehicles.

Exterior

This outstanding Edizione Finale has covered just 15k miles from new. The condition is exemplary throughout and perfectly in keeping with the mileage. The paintwork appears fresh and supremely glossy in every light, with no marks or blemishes to report even on very close inspection. All glass is original to the car and all badges and trim present absolutely as new. Most importantly the Integrale is entirely corrosion-free; the underside is the best we have seen of any unrestored vehicle. Given this Delta’s extremely low mileage, excellent provenance and impeccable condition, we believe this to be one of finest examples available today.

Interior

The cabin space remains in particularly fine order. The supportive Recaro seats present with almost no signs of use; the delicate alcantara is without any wear or bobbling and the bolsters are entirely wrinkle-free. Amazingly the door cards still retain their factory plastic covering, which was also largely present on the carpets prior to detailing. As a result the foot-wells are free from any marking or discolouration and are further protected by a set of tailored floor mats. Pleasingly, none of the carbon trim has faded or suffered from laquer peel, and even the original Sony head unit remains in place.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

With its super low mileage and excellent maintenance record, the engine bay of this fine example is very clean without being overly dressed. In 2011 the car was placed into storage following its tenth service at 24,290km. Despite having covered just 320km since that time the Delta was sent to marque specialist Tanc Barratt Ltd upon arrival at 4 Star. A full inspection, major service, belt change, and no-expense-spared mechanical re-commissioning was then carried out to ensure everything was in perfect working order. The car is now in remarkable fettle and drives beautifully, just as it should.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The original 16-inch alloys are in excellent condition and are correctly painted in dark grey. They are finished with pristine Lancia centre badges and are shod in a matching set of Bridgestone Potenza performance tyres, each with ample tread remaining. Between the spokes of the front wheels the calipers retain their original Lancia detailing, having never required refurbishment. The brakes perform well on test and bring the car to a halt quickly.

History File

This rare Final Edition was first registered in November 1995. Despite covering just 15k miles on the salt-free roads of Japan it was regularly maintained at close mileage intervals, which are as follows: 1k, 8k, 10k, 10k, 11k, 12k, 13k, 14k, 15k, and again at 15k miles. Upon arrival into the UK a full inspection, major service, belt change and mechanical re-commissioning were carried out. The work was undertaken by Lancia Specialist Tanc Barratt Ltd at a cost of over £4k.

The level of originality on this example is exceptional, with a history file to match. The paperwork is complete with all the original Lancia booklets from the supplying dealer, along with every maintenance record from new. The car is now UK-registered and is present with a Lancia Classiche ‘Certificato di Origine’ confirming its authenticity.
