Oldsmobile Cutlass S Convertible 350 V8 1969

Allmän beskrivning : Description
With all the hype surrounding auctions and top-flight investment-grade classic cars, it's easy to forget that 98% of the hobby is made up of simply nice classic cars like this dialed-in 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass S convertible. Stylish in a beautiful shade of blue with a top that goes down and an original 350 V8 that sounds great, what better way to enjoy a sunny day than behind the wheel of this fast, fun, and very slick ragtop?
General Motors got the formula right with the A-bodies, and that includes the Cutlass and its unique blend of style and performance. Proportions were exactly right, and in Oldsmobile's case, the Cutlass is simply the best-looking thing to come out of the BOP studios that year. Treated to a very nice respray back to its original shade of Trophy Blue, it looks really good, and it's refreshing that it wasn't turned into some kind of mutant 442 clone, but instead embraced its heritage as a beautiful Cutlass S droptop. That means no graphics, no racing stripes, just a clean, straight body with a glossy shine and a great look. It appears that this one has been well-maintained since it was completed not long ago and offers straight bodywork that highlights the flared fenders and chrome strip along the tops of the fenders. It shows some very minor wear, of course, because it's impossible to resist a vintage drop-top on a sunny day, and this high driver-quality Olds is more than happy to join you on your daily commute to work as well as to the car show on Sunday. Chrome and trim are very good, including the cool headlight assemblies and awesome grille, the curvaceous bumpers, and all the stainless was buffed-out to a great shine that provides a nice contrast to the slick blue finish.
The black bucket seat interior is simply what you want to make a droptop car look the coolest, and it's in very nice shape with firm support on the seats and very clean OEM replacement upholstery throughout. Luxury-oriented Oldsmobiles are not a new thing, but this one offers a great combination of options that you wouldn't expect at this price, including power windows, factory A/C that's blowing cold R134a treated air, a center console, and a power convertible top that looks brand new. The original radio looks like it's still in the factory slot in the dash, but it if you actually look closer you'll see it's been supplanted in favor of a modern Custom Autosound AM/FM/AUX unit that mimics the original styling but provides new hardware and controls for the upgraded speakers inside the cabin. The gauges are housed in their own round pods ahead of the driver, a lone auxiliary Oil PSI unit was added below, the dash is clean and free of cracks, and the stock 3-spoke steering wheel remains in great original condition as well. Plush black carpets look great framed by shiny door sills, and the 3-year-old white convertible top folds easily with the touch of a button and hides under a taut black boot. Out back, the spacious trunk offers fresh mats, a full-sized spare in case of emergencies, and a booming subwoofer that works in concert with the upgraded stereo system inside.
Oldsmobile's Rocket 350 was no slouch in the performance department, and the block under the hood is in fact the numbers matching unit. Topped with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and matching intake, it has a very OEM look, right down to the gold engine enamel on the block and valve covers, and the chrome air cleaner decorated with correct Olds Rocket 350 decals. With MDI ignition and timing along with a gear reduction starter, the Olds still starts quickly and drives great, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how pleasant of a ride it really is. Power steering linked to a quick-ratio steering box and firm power front disc brakes with a fresh booster/master cylinder set-up are welcomed options for this classic droptop, and the Dynamax dual exhaust below produces a wonderfully subtle muscle car soundtrack. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic that shifts smoothly and a heavy-duty 12-bolt rear end that was recently outfitted with 3.42 POSI gearing, so it moves with authority, but cruises easily at modern highway speeds. Classic paint-matched Olds wheels always look awesome, with these wearing white-letter BFGoodrich T/A radials that finish off the look perfectly.
Complete with owner's and service manuals, this is an uber-clean, handsome ragtop that runs great and always delivers a good time. This beautiful droptop Olds offers a lot more than its reasonable price tag would suggest. Call today!
