Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster 4.7 V8 Sportshift Perfectly maintained, l 2009

General description : The Aston Martin Vantage V8 is a compact sports car made by the British Aston Martin brand. The Aston Martin Vantage was first introduced during the 2003 North American International Auto Show. Whereas the Detroit exhibition showed the concept car, the production model was introduced at the 2005 Geneva Autosalon. With the V8 Vantage, Aston took its first steps into a market it had not been active in before. The compact V8 sports car was a roaring success for the British brand. A year later the V8 Vantage Roadster with a retractable roof was added to the lineup. Our car was supplied from new in 2009 by the Troy, Michigan based Aston Martin (these days are known as “The Suburban Collection). The 4.7 litre V8 delivers 426 Ps and a 470 Mn torque. The gear change materialises by means of the steering wheel-mounted sportshift better know as so-called of Top-Gear famed named flappy paddles. However, you wish to refer to the transmission it does take the Vantage from 0 to 100 km/hr in 4.8 sec which is by all means not too bad for a “Grand Turismo”. The car was not used a lot as evidence of the 25,000 miles on the clock in 2018. Despite this low mileage the car still received an annual service at Aston Martin of Troy, as the service booklet stamps show. In 2018 the car changed ownership to a gentleman living in Curaçao. He intended to take the car back to Holland and underway dropped the car off at the Stratton Motor Company, an authorised Aston Martin service centre in Norfolk, England. Only wanting the very best in 2019 the car gets turned inside out engine wise. It did not stay with just the engine, it got a new clutch and flywheel. It did not stop there either as any suspect addition engine accessories were immediately replaced with solely original parts. In preparation for a mainland European import, the mileometer was changed over to a kilometre meter. The thick end of £28,500 later the car is up to the required standard, imported and registered with Dutch papers. Once registered in Holland, Kroymans garage in Hilversum transformed the Sat-Nav to EU specification. Over the last 2 years, the car has only added 4,000 km to the clock and has continued its regular service. With the clock standing at 44,500 km and an engine only having run some 4,000 km since its overhaul this 12-year-old car finds itself in the unique position of being in a next to a new state. It has a triple black and red stitching interior trim. Both the paintwork and the interior show next to no signs of wear and everything is factory original, as you have the right to expect. This GT is an absolute feast to travel in. The sound it produces is truly symphonic, loud but never vulgar, it possesses that typical British understatement. About Aston Martin
Aston Martin, one of Britain's best known sports car manufacturer, was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford.

During its chequered financial history the company has had numerous owners taking over the company, Sir David Brown just to mention one.

Between the wars Bertelli was both technical director and designer of all new Aston Martins, thus known as "Bertelli cars". These included the 1½-litre "T-type", "International", "Le Mans", "MKII" its racing version, the "Ulster", and the 2-litre 15/98 and its race going derivative, the "Speed Model".

During the war years the company produced aircraft components.

In 1947, Aston was purchased and thus saved by Sir David Brown. The company also acquired Lagonda the same year for its 2.6-litre W. O. Bentley-designed engine. Both companies shared resources and workshops creating the iconic "DB" series of cars. In 1950, they presented the DB2, followed by the DB2/4 in 1953, the DB2/4 MkII in 1955, the DB Mark III in 1957.

DB4 with its strong Italian flavor and construction was introduced in 1958. The lightweight superleggera (tube-frame) body was designed by Carrozzeria Touring in Milan. Although the design and construction techniques were Italian, the DB4 was the first Aston to be built at the company's Newport Pagnell works in Buckinghamshire, England. The six-cylinder engines of these cars from 1954 up to 1965 were designed by Tadek Marek. Despite initial problems with cracking engine blocks DB4 was a success that really established the make together with its later derivates DB5, of James Bond Goldfinger fame, and more civilized DB6 Grand Tourer.

With the all new model DBS in the late 60's the company went to eight cylinder configuration when it was modified to Aston Martin v8 – a sort of Gentleman's muscle car.
