Austin-Healey 3000 MK III Stunning colours, great condition 1965

General description : This fine 1965 Austin Healey 3000 Mk3 first hit the roads in the States in 1965. It arrived on Dutch shores in 1991 and is still in wonderful shape. The bodywork is in good shape with lovely thin and correctly aligned panelwork. The brightwork and bumpers to are in good condition. The car was resprayed purely for cosmetic reasons in two-component “Old English White” which thanks to meticulous preparation and a good base to start with still looks fantastic with only the minutest amount of blemish. The black vinyl hood contrasts nicely with the white paintwork and is a good fit. Naturally, the hood has a tonneau cover for when you out and about with the hood down. The chrome 15-inch rims with 72 spokes form the icing on the cake as they are in mint condition and shod in good quality, correctly sized Vredestein tyres. If you stick you head inside your eye automatically is drawn to the wonderful red leather upholstery. The upholstery is augmented by red carpets and a nicely detailed dashboard. The full upholstery has only recently been done whilst ensuring the original look was preserved. Mechanically there are no worries. The engine runs smoothly and has an electric cooling fan and recently fully replaced ignition system. The brakes and suspension too are in top condition. The manual 4-speed overdrive had already been rebuilt and finds its way precise through the gears. The splendid maintenance ensures this Austin Healey 3000 Mk3 is a pure pleasure to drive. The Austin Healey, as you know, is typically that kind of car that drives as good as it looks. Well, what more is there to say than; come and try out this mechanically splendid and great looking Austin Healey 3000 Mk3. Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975! About Austin-Healey
Austin-Healey was a British sports car make created as a joint-venture between the Austin division of the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and the Donald Healey Motor Company.

First Healey model, Healey 100, was based on Austin A90 Atlantic mechanicals and developed by Donald Healey to be build in-house. They finished a single Healey Hundred for the 1952 London Motor Show. Leonard Lord, managing director of Austin was so impressed by the design that a deal was duly struck with Healey and the car was renamed the Austin-Healey 100 overnight. Austin Healey was born. 100 derived into 100-six, and different 3000 versions before they quit the production in 1968 as the basic design had finally become obsolete.
