Bentley Azure 6.8 Convertible 1999

General description : The Bentley Azure is a luxury convertible by the British prestige Bentley brand. Two generations of the Bentley Azur have been produced, the first in 1995 followed by the second one in 2006. The first generation was based on Ken Greenley’s Bentley Continental R. Greenley was also responsible for designing another reassuringly expensive British car; the Aston Martin Virage. The Continental R stood as a template for the Azure. The convertible design was not carried out in-house but came form the pen of Pininfarina. It still has the classic 6.75 litre V8 engine, according to many considered the only real Bentley engine. Our model was first registered in 1999. In 2008 it got its Dutch registration and for the last 13 years belonged to the same owner. He was very enamoured with his possession which is why we unreservedly can state that the very best care this car has enjoyed is reflected in its condition. All maintenance has been carried out by specialists like Brabo. They did not scrimp and the car received all the attention it deserved. To the uninitiated 189,000 km may seem a lot, but those in the know will be all to aware that the engine would have hardly suffered. Even more so when you know the previous owner had the engine fully overhauled at 100,000km (invoices present). The British Racing Green paintwork is in very good condition, the cream and green leather interior trim is virtually unmarked. That colour combination is without doubt simply marvellous. The electric hood is in good shape and closes securely. The car drives like a new car would and is loaded with luxurious accessories, bathing you in all imaginable creature comforts. The car comes with its owner’s manual as well as maintenance invoices. Only 1,403 Bentley Azure’s were built of which 144 in 1999. That means this is a rather exclusive car. This future classic is ready to transport you from A to B in the lap of luxury. Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975! About Bentley
Before becoming a mere subsidiary to Rolls-Royce, Bentley was an independent Automaker famous for the "fastest lorries in the world" e.i Bentley 4½ Litre.

Good ol' Bentley boys (A group of wealthy British motorists, mainly Woolf Barnato, Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin, steeplechaser George Duller, aviator Glen Kidston, S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis, and Dr Dudley Benjafield ) -in their trusty Bentley cars- took four consecutive victories at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930

In 1931 Bentley was taken over British Central Equitable Trust that later proved to be a front for Rolls-Royce Limited. Unhappy with his role at Rolls-Royce, W.O. Bentley left the company when his contract expired in 1935 duly joining Lagonda. This was beginning of which ultimately led Bentley cars to become more or less badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
