We have a completely restored 1956 BMW 501 V8 ‘Barock Engel’ in our showrooms. This is a 501 BMW fitted with the much loved 502 series V8 engine. It was BMW’s first post-war car and became known as the ‘Barock Engel’. Only a few of the 5,568 BMW’s built are still around today and even fewer are in this restored condition. Over a period of 18 months between 2007 and 2008 the last owner commissioned the full restoration and mechanical re-build. The bodywork is of stunning quality with perfect body panel fittings, fine paintwork and chrome decorative strips. The interior trim is as good as new. The whole restoration has been carefully recorded in a full rapport with invoices and photos. Before its restoration this BMW was still running and in complete and original condition. After the restoration the owner kept the car for over another 11 years. It was only used on rare occasions.
