BMW M5 1993

General description : The BMW M5 Touring is not a car you see every day. And, the reason for that is probably that they were the ones that started the trend with a very powerful estate version. Also, the concept has proven genius, just look how many sports cars we have in estate version today. Every dad wants to have a sportscar, but he also must have space for the kids and the luggage when they go for holiday. From the BMW M5 Estate were 446 cars in total produced.

Exterior: BMW M5 Touring looks amazing in Daytona violet. This car has been given a high quality repaint and looks spectacular. Minimal wear to be seen. As you can see in the pictures, the BMW M5 Estate has sports suspension which makes it just slightly lower than original to give it that sporty and angry look. Wheels have been restored and they are flawless and fitted with a good set of tyres.

Interior: BMW M5 Touring came with a high quality leather interior and despite the km on this car, the inside still looks like new. Even the leather on the driver’s seat is just excellent. The twin sunroof is a technical masterpiece and gives the passengers endless options to put sun on their face. All original carpeting is nice and clean. All buttons and switches are all good. The BMW M5 Touring is a very roomy car and can easily fit 4 grown people and all their luggage for a week’s holiday.

M5 Touring equipment:

Engine:  BMW M5 straight six delivers 340hp with 400Nm in torque. Those were very impressive numbers in 1993 and this car will still leave many brand new BMWs behind today. The M5 Touring delivers the power to the rear wheels through a smooth five speed gearbox.

Last service work done was 2021-08-05 when it had an oil change, new fuel filter and new brake fluid. It is today mechanically sound and feels very solid on the road. The Supersprint exhaust system does not only look great in the back but it also gives the BMW M5 that perfect sweet sound. Just enough to make people who know cars understand that this is not the ordinary station wagon. Without being loud and annoying.

History: The workers at BMW Motorsport had completed the BMW M5 Touring in May 1993 and the car was delivered in April 1994 to BMW Munchen. The first owner, Uwe, took delivery on the 12th of December 1995. It had a few more owners in Germany before retiring from autobahn life and emigrate to Sweden.

On the 4th of October 2000 it was granted a Swedish citizenship after passing a tough test at the Swedish Bilprovning. It is a very well documented car with plenty of invoices of what has been done. All original books including the service book full of stamps. Two sets of keys, original spare and tools.

Bayerische Motoren Werke, commonly known as BMW, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1916. Initially established as an aircraft-engine manufacturer during World War I, BMW faced restrictions on aircraft production after the war. In response, the company shifted its focus to motorcycle production in 1923, marking the beginning of its involvement in the automotive industry. Subsequently, BMW entered the world of automobiles in 1928 by producing the DIXI, essentially a licensed version of the Austin 7 from the Austin Motor Company.

In the 1930s, BMW began to establish itself as a manufacturer of elegant and high-performance vehicles. One notable model from this era is the BMW 327, introduced in 1937. The 327 was available as both a coupe and a cabriolet, showcasing the brand's commitment to luxury and style. Additionally, BMW achieved success in sports car racing during this period, particularly with the BMW 328. The 328, which debuted in 1936, became renowned for its performance and aerodynamics. BMW campaigned the 328 in various racing events, including the prestigious Mille Miglia, where the company introduced several aerodynamic specials.

The post-war era proved challenging for BMW, and the company faced financial difficulties that nearly led to bankruptcy. However, BMW managed to recover and rebuild, eventually becoming one of the leading premium automotive brands globally.

As the 1960s unfolded, BMW further solidified its reputation for producing sports-oriented and luxurious vehicles. In 1968, the BMW 2002 was introduced, marking the birth of the "New Class" of compact, sporty sedans. The 2002 gained popularity for its agile handling and performance, laying the foundation for BMW's sporty image.

Moving into the 1970s, BMW expanded its lineup with the introduction of the E9 platform, which included the iconic BMW 3.0 CS coupe. The E9 series showcased BMW's commitment to blending performance and luxury. In 1972, the M1, BMW's first mid-engined sports car, made its debut. The M1 was initially developed as a racing car but later became a road-going model. The M1 laid the groundwork for BMW's high-performance M series.

In the late 1970s, the BMW E24 6 Series was introduced, offering a combination of luxury and performance. The 6 Series included models like the 630CS, 633CSi, and 635CSi, becoming a symbol of sophistication and driving pleasure.

Through these milestones and a commitment to innovation and performance, BMW has evolved into a powerhouse in the automotive industry, maintaining its status as one of the leading premium brands worldwide.
