Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396. This 70 SS has been with the same owner since 1979, and he knew the history of the two previous owners. This California Built car lived in California through 2017 when the owner moved to Texas with it. If you are looking for one of the most legendary classics to date this is it. Not only are they highly sought after, they are also well known for being mean muscle machines. This one certainly fits the bill and is capable of laying down some rubber. Powering this Chevelle is a stout 396 CID V8 that has been paired to a 4-Speed Manual transmission. The 396 is CTX stamped, and the correct Vin is present on the block as well. This car screams power as it runs through the powerband and with Dual exhaust, this car has a nice grumble to it. This Chevelle features AM/FM radio, a Cassette tape player, power steering, power brakes, radial tires, seatbelts, and a vinyl interior making for a great driver. Walking around the car you will find it's painted in a stunning Fathom Blue with White racing stripes. Moving to the interior, you will find classic black bucket seats to flow well with the darker-toned exterior paintwork. Keeping the more classic look not much was changed on the inside. All the chrome trimming is in good condition making this car fully capable of attending your local car shows. The underside of this Chevelle shows as well as what you can see above and the owner mentions the restoration was finished in 2008. The current mileage on the engine is claimed to be 400 miles from the rebuild, shortly after the vehicle was finished in 2008. One walk around this example will leave you in need of relocating this one to your driveway and with those iconic dual headlights, it'll be hard to mistake this car for anything other than a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
