Ford Custom 1937

General description : 1937 Ford Custom The 37 Ford has become a favorite among traditional hotrod fans and customizers alike. The sleek bodylines have a luxurious appearance that makes for the perfect canvas for the creative mind. One look at this classic 37 and you can see it is more on the custom side. All of the work was done by Lakeside Rods and Rides out of Iowa who have gathered a large number of awards throughout the country. Look closely at the details on this car because it has a few unique features that really set it apart from a lot of the street rodded 37s out there. The Downs body has a great look and is much more along the lines of a traditional 37 than some of the more exaggerated bodies. It has been painted in very nice deep Burgundy metallic and Taupe Metallic that is separated by an airbrushed chrome trim line that looks like the real thing. The two tone separation curves down along the nose making for a very unique look. Real chrome is in place with the front and rear bumpers which is another very cool accent a lot of street rods don’t bring to the table. The car utilizes a bent style front windshield which is a cool custom feature along with the split window in back. More custom features found on the body include the frenched taillights and painted to match molded in side mirrors. The stance of the car is perfect but if you don’t agree the front Heidts independent front end has air ride capabilities and can raise/lower with just the push of a button. Sitting under all corners of the car are the Boyd Coddington Impulse wheels which have a beautiful finish and are wrapped with low profile tires. The drive train of the car is just as custom with a fully polished out Ram Jet 350 V8. It has been fitted with a street performance chrome package and has a great shine. Backing this is the 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive that shifts smoothly and with no issues. It sends power back through the Ford rear end down to the rear wheels. The interior of this classic has an amazing appearance with sloping arm rests and a fully custom center console that always gets looks. It is all done in Beige ultra leather and is show quality throughout. The dash has been custom formed to look like no other street rod out there. White faced gauges are in place as well as the billet Vintage AC vents. This is one cool custom that would make a great addition to any collection. A 22 foot enclosed trailer is also available to purchase with this car. This car is worth every bit of the reduced price $59,500.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
