Ford F-100 351 Cleveland V8 1978

General description : 351C V8, C6 AUTO, PWR STEER/BRAKE, GR8 COLOR COMBO, RUNS/DRIVES GR8, AFFORDABLE!

When a classic 1978 Ford F-100 is nothing but black and chrome on the outside, and a nice coordinated inside, you're already going to take notice. But when this is also a 4x4 with an upgraded V8, you soon realize that this is a lot of truck for the money.
In the 70s, the Ranger XLT package meant an upgraded and very stylish pickup. That's why you're looking at impressive wide chrome bumpers and square headlights (lower models had the round ones in '78.) Plus, this one is complete with the rocker moldings that wrap up over the wheel wells, stainless body line moldings, and an ornate tailgate. This extra bright work works well with the upgrade to 15-inch Eagle Alloy wheels. It all looks great against a more modern application of glossy black paint. But as good as this pickup looks, you can tell it really is ready to get down to work and play. The bed has been sprayed with a black liner paint so you can easily handle your weekend chores.
Inside, red accents look fantastic against the black on the doors, dash, and custom bench seat that has comfortable cloth inserts for where you sit. The Ranger's wood paneling gives it a classic upscale charm. Plus, you have great modern upgrades like cup holders and an AM/FM/CD stereo. As you slip behind the upgraded sports steering wheel, it gives you a commanding view of all the factory gauges as well as the road ahead. So we bet you'll love sliding the rear glass to get the old-school breeze while you listen to the tune of that V8 rumble from the dual exhaust.
That great soundtrack starts under the hood. According to the previous owner, the motor was replaced around 16k miles ago, and now you're looking at a rebuilt 351 Cleveland V8. It has new heads, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, and long tube headers that feed the growling dual exhaust. With this truck's powerful V8, tall stance, and strong two-speed 4x4 transfer case, you know that the fun doesn't end when the pavement does. For everyday use, the full package feels nice on the road thanks to the C6 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes.
A classic pickup with the right look and plenty of power – it's exactly what you want, and it's ready right now. But the only way to enjoy this Ford tomorrow is if you call today!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
