Ford Other Ramp Truck 454 V8 1946

General description : Description
This is the kind of truck that instantly gets your mind working. You just know you'll be the only one to show up in a 1946 Ford ramp truck. With upgraded big block power and a cool design theme, you don't even need to have a classic riding on the back for this one to turn heads.
People are going to marvel at a truck like this. After all, in 1946, this was the kind of industrial machine that got us moving again immediately after WWII. And now this rare surviving example is getting the respect it deserves by being the largest toy in the toy box. The red paint on this one helps grab attraction, and it also has that kind of fire engine boldness that helps hint at the truck's overall theme. The side grab bars, large running boards made from grippy diamond plating, and the large push bumper are all indicators that this was done to be a cool speedway-style rescue wrecker. There's even the siren and light on top! And while you'll like the appearance, you'll absolutely love the function this one offers. That flat slope rear has two slide out ramps to make it easy to put your favorite classic racer on the back. Plus, the winch and tie-down hooks means you can securely get just about anything on there. There's even air ride on the rear suspension to help with heavier loads. Integrated bed storage, a trailer hitch with seven-pin connector, LED lighting, and industrial-style 8-lug wheel with dually in the rear are all part of a package that gives this classic Ford a ton of usability today.
The interior has vintage style mixed with the right upgrades. So you get the classic bench seat and even the cool Ford gauge setup. But items like the AM/FM/CD stereo are a reminder that even vintage hauling needs the right driving music. Plus, the later GM steering wheel on a tilt column and the auxiliary gauge trio are the kind of things you want when using this truck to the fullest.
Under the hood is some nice shine and plenty of power. This classic heavy duty machine is now running a 454 cubic-inch big block V8. Plus, the large motor inhales deeply with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake. This hauler even has an aluminum radiator with large metal fan to help keep it running cool. So this was built to get to work. And unlike how this came in 1946, you have the added comfort of a strong TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/discs up front.
No matter if you have something special to haul or just want to be the biggest/baddest classic all on your own, this rare classic Ford hauler is the ideal mix of function and cool. So don't miss out, call today!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
