The Jaguar E-Type is a British automobile legend; manufactured by Jaguar between 1961 and 1975. It combined good looks, high performance and competitive pricing that instantly captured the imagination of the British public at the time and it has remained a truly iconic piece of British motoring history since. It was voted "the most beautiful car of all time" by the Daily Telegraph in 2008 and in 2004; Sports Car International magazine placed the E-Type at number one on their list of Top Sports Cars of the decade. On the cars public release in 1961 Enzo Ferrari called it "The most beautiful car ever made". Originally launched in 1961 with a 3.8 litre straight 6 engine, taken from the XKlSOS along with the gearbox, the E Type was updated in 1964, with an enlarged 4.2 litre engine, a new, all synchromesh four-speed gearbox and better brakes. As the power and usability increased, so did the comfort, as Jaguar dished the foot-wells to improve legroom and padded the dashboard in leather and vinyl.

Delivered new to JD Clowles of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, where we understand the Jaguar was rarely used and displayed in a local museum until the car was repatriated back to the UK in 2001 by PC Woolls of Middlesex. A complete restoration was carried out by one of UK leading Jaguar E Type specialists in 2008; both written and pictorial details of the restoration accompanying the cars historical chassis file which also includes JDHT certificate and copies of original registration documents.

Finished in Dark Blue with sumptuous Biscuit Hide interior and matching carpets, the car has covered only 675 miles since restoration. Additional upgrades fitted to the car include;

• Air Conditioning

• Electronic Ignition System

• Stainless Steel Exhaust and six branch Manifold

• New Chrome Wire Wheels

Competitively priced to reflect its superb restoration, this must surely be one of the best examples of an E Type Series 1 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe currently offered for sale.

About Jaguar E-type
The Jaguar E-Type FHC (Fixed Head Coupe) is a classic sports car that was produced by the British automaker Jaguar Cars from 1961 to 1974. It is often regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever produced, with its long, sleek hood, flowing curves, and aggressive stance.

The E-Type FHC was derived from the D-Type race car that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1955, 1956, and 1957. It was powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six engine that produced up to 265 horsepower and featured advanced suspension and braking systems, with independent suspension and disc brakes on all four wheels.

The E-Type FHC was known for its exceptional handling and performance, with a top speed of up to 150 mph and acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 6.7 seconds. Its design was also innovative for its time, featuring an independent rear suspension and a monocoque construction.

The Jaguar E-Type FHC became an iconic car of the 1960s and was favored by celebrities and enthusiasts alike. OTS i.e The Jaguar E-Type Roadster became an iconic car of the 1960s and was favored by celebrities wanting to be seen in their car.
