Lamborghini Jarama 4.0 S GT 2+2 Only 152 made! Low kilometres, very o 1973

General description : The Lamborghini Jarama S is an absolute rarity amongst the world of rare Lamborghini’s. At the 1970 Geneva car show, the Lamborghini Jarama was introduced as the successor to the Islero S. Instead of continuing the development of the Islero, Lamborghini decided to build the Jarama on a shortened Espada base. The Jarama S can be seen as a face-lifted version. The Jarama S (aka the Jarama GTS) featured many improvements compared to the normal Jarama. The wheels have 5 wheel nuts instead of a central locking wheel nut and the power output was increased from 350 to 365 Ps. Noticeable changes were the new ventilation grates on the bodywork, the air inlet on the bonnet and the newly styled dashboard. The dashboard not only looks better, it also allows for more cabin space. Did you know the Jarama happened to be Feruccio Lamborghini’s favourite Lamborghini? At the time he typified the car as being the ultimate combination between an Espada and a Miura. This European supplied Lamborghini Jarama S was first registered in 1973 and has remained in fantastic original condition. The blue paintwork has been resprayed for cosmetic reasons and is in wonderful condition. The bodywork shines through with its lovely thin and correctly aligned panelwork. Matters such as the bumpers and mirrors also all look fabulous. The fully original interior trim has black carpets and tan leather upholstery. Another of the Jarama’s interior worth a mention is the rear bench seat. Up to now, the Jarama is the last V12 2+2 coupé produced (the Espada is a proper 4-seater). The switches and controls are in great shape and the Jaeger instruments all work perfectly. The good interior condition is in part down to the car’s low mileage of 62,500 km and the loving care lavished by its previous owner. The same goes for the car’s mechanics. The Giotto Bizzarrini designed 3.9 litre V12 is a true work of art. The matching numbers engine is attached to a 5-speed manual gearbox in good working order. For Lamborghini enthusiasts, the V12 is nothing less than an institution. Did you know that the engine in its definitive shape was even still used in the Murcielago SV? The Jarama is a bit of a forgotten child in Lamborghini’s history and that is undeserved! What a great car to drive! Lovely suspension, good brakes, a wonderful interior and a brilliant engine. This is the perfect Lamborghini for the enthusiast looking for one of the rarest of rare Lamborghinis. Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975! About Lamborghini
Ah, the fiery tale of Lamborghini, a true icon born from the sparks of frustration with the Prancing Horse! Picture yourself in the early 1960s, a time when the automotive world was dominated by the likes of Ferrari. Now, enter Ferruccio Lamborghini, a successful tractor manufacturer and a man with a passion for powerful machines.

Act 1: The Frustration (1963)
Ferruccio, a proud owner of several Ferraris, found himself dissatisfied with the clutch in his 250 GT. Frustrated, he marched into Enzo Ferrari's office to air his grievances. The meeting didn't go as planned, with Enzo dismissing Ferruccio's concerns, suggesting that he stick to building tractors. Well, that was like waving a red flag at a bull.

Act 2: The Birth of Lamborghini (1963)
Fuelled by a mixture of frustration and determination, Ferruccio decided to take matters into his own hands. In 1963, he founded Automobili Lamborghini. His vision? To create grand touring cars that rivaled, or even surpassed, the offerings of Ferrari.

Act 3: The Pioneering Models (1960s-1970s)
And thus, the Lamborghini legend began with the release of the Miura in 1966. Designed by Marcello Gandini, this mid-engined masterpiece was a trailblazer, the world's first true supercar. With a V12 engine mounted behind the driver, the Miura set the standard for performance and style.

Following the Miura's success, Lamborghini introduced the iconic Countach in the early '70s. Marcello Gandini once again worked his magic, giving birth to a wedge-shaped wonder that became a poster child for a generation. The Countach wasn't just a car; it was an automotive revolution.

Act 4: The Design Maestros
Behind the scenes, designers like Marcello Gandini and later Giugiaro played pivotal roles in shaping Lamborghini's distinct aesthetic. Gandini's work on the Miura and Countach cemented Lamborghini's reputation for bold, angular designs that pushed the boundaries of automotive styling.

Act 5: The Legacy and Modern Marvels
As the decades unfolded, Lamborghini continued to innovate and produce iconic models. The Diablo, Murciélago, Aventador, and the more recent Huracán and Urus all carry the Lamborghini DNA – a perfect blend of power, performance, and unmistakable design.

Epilogue: A Fierce Rivalry
The Lamborghini-Ferrari rivalry became legendary, driving both companies to push the limits of automotive engineering. Lamborghini, born out of frustration, emerged not just as a competitor but as a trailblazer, leading the way for mid-engined supercars that continue to captivate enthusiasts worldwide.

So, there you have it, the epic saga of Lamborghini – a story of frustration turned into a symphony of roaring engines, sleek designs, and a legacy that forever changed the landscape of high-performance automobiles.
