Mini Cooper S 1964

General description : 1964 Mini Cooper S 1275

Chassis number: C-A2S7/658434
Registration number: NLG687C

A well restored car with an engine rebuilt by Engine Machining Services of Worksop.  The car has also benefitted from a recent respray in its original colours of tartan red & a black roof. This Mini Cooper is the larger engined 1275 version with correct additional stud on the head.
The period details on the car are largely correct with a nod towards original authenticity.  The steering wheel is of the correct size & type.  Glass Indicators are also fitted as opposed to the plastic items often added on to lesser restorations.  The interior trim is correct as the car left the factory.  The wheels are also of the correct type as is the chrome rear numberplate light.

All in all this is a nicely sorted example with good provenance & is in very very tidy condition.  Driving it needless to say does tend to bring out the inner hooligan in one.  The car comes with a thick paperwork file attesting to work done & money spent over the years.  It also comes with its original British Motor Industry Heritage Trust  production record trace & a long ownership history.

2. Classic Mini Models:

Introduction of the Clubman and Clubman Estate variants.
Further design updates, including a more rounded front grille.

6. End of Production:

Later Years: Production of the classic Mini continued until the year 2000.
Final Editions: The last classic Mini rolled off the production line on October 4, 2000, marking the end of an era.
