Porsche 911 Early LWB Targa Restomod Rally Prepared 1972

General description : ABOUT THIS CLASSIC1972 Porsche 911 Targa “oelklappe” Restomod. This so called “ restomod “ looks like an original & rare 911S but has been heavily modified. The car was “body Off” restored & modified some time ago which explains its great condition. The modifications that have been made where done with two things in mind. First, create a car that can be driven on a daily basis & lengthy journeys at the same time. Second, the car should handle and perform well enough to hold its own during a demanding classic car rally. I must admit it looks like both goals were achieved. The undercarriage was modernised so it can be driven both comfortably & sportive. Powering this classic is a revised & lightly modified 3.0 Super Carrera engine equipped with a double weber carburettor system. This makes the car reliable & fast at the same time. A completely rebuild & fortified 915 gearbox was coupled to get the power on the ground. The larger brake systems of a Porsche 964 were chosen to have the right stopping power. To finish up the build also the optical side got the attention it needed. The car was repainted in its original “Grand Prix Weiss” colour & looks beautiful. To give the car a sportier look she was equipped with original S model parts all around. Inside functionality meets practicality. All switches and dials are fully operational & a high end rally trip master was mounted. For some light entertainment the new Porsche classic radio and navigation was installed. To make sure driver and co-pilot are comfortable during the longer drives the car was fitted with RECARO tilt frame seats. In short, if you are looking for an F model with great original looks but the abilities of a later generation 911 this is the car. About Porsche 911 Early LWB
The early Porsche 911 long wheelbase models, also known as the "L" models, were produced from 1968 to 1973. They were named so because of their longer wheelbase, which increased by 2.4 inches from the previous models. The longer wheelbase provided a smoother and more stable ride, and also allowed for more interior space.

The long wheelbase models were powered by air-cooled, flat-six engines, with displacement ranging from 2.0L to 2.4L. They were available in coupe and Targa body styles, and were equipped with a five-speed manual transmission. Notable features of the long wheelbase 911s include their distinctive "ducktail" rear spoiler and Fuchs alloy wheels.

These early 911s are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, pure as swb cars but easier to drive and handling better.
