Porsche 914 1.8 Recently fully serviced 1975

General description : This Porsche 914 was supplied from new in June 1975 in Los Angles, the USA. Over three years ago this 914, with its 1800 engine, was exported to the Netherlands. It has never been restored, but was a re-sprayed in the past. The bodywork is solid although the panelling and paintwork are not perfect. The sound and solid underbody is rust-free. It has the original ‘Malaga Rot’ finish with black interior trim. The car has recently been thoroughly serviced by specialists. For example, the entire injection system was overhauled. The doors and the Targa roof were fitted with new rubbers and adjusted again, the brake lines replaced, the complete clutch replaced as well as the clutch cable that was replaced by a thicker cable from a 911. Finally, the fuel filters were all replaced, both the main filter at the front near the tank and the two small filters at the engine. Only original Porsche parts were used during the work and the injection system was sent to Bosch for perfect adjustment by specialists. It will come as no surprise to you that this car drives like a new Porsche 914. The engine is eagerly hungry on the gas and enjoys being extended to the higher revs. The roof and windows close perfectly, so leaving the car outside in a rain shower is no problem at all. Total investment? More than € 7,500, of course, invoices for the work are available, as well as a Porsche birth certificate and mail correspondence showing that this car still has its original engine. In short, a mid-engined Porsche with a Targa roof, attractively priced. Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975! About Porsche 914
The Porsche 914 was a sports car produced jointly by Porsche and Volkswagen from 1969 to 1976. The car was designed to replace the Porsche 912 and the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, and was intended to be a more affordable entry-level sports car for both brands.

The Porsche 914 was initially marketed as a Volkswagen-Porsche, and was sold through both Volkswagen and Porsche dealerships. However, as the car evolved, Porsche became increasingly involved in its development, and by the time production ended in 1976, the car was widely regarded as a genuine Porsche.

The Porsche 914 was available with a range of four-cylinder engines, including a 1.7-liter, a 1.8-liter, and a 2.0-liter engine, as well as a six-cylinder engine in the Porsche 914/6 model. The car featured a mid-engine layout, which helped to improve handling and balance, and was available with a range of transmissions, including a five-speed manual and a three-speed automatic.

Despite its initial reputation as a VW-Porsche hybrid, the Porsche 914 is now widely regarded as a unique and important part of Porsche's history. It was the first Porsche to feature a mid-engine layout, and its design and engineering helped to pave the way for other less iconic Porsche models, such as the Porsche Boxster.
