Triumph TR2 Very well maintained, recent Mille Miglia competit 1954

General description : The Triumph TR2 was in production between 1953 and 1955. The main purpose when developing the TR2 was to provide competition to MG in the States. Whilst a production run of 8,628 may not seem a lot today, then it was very good selling model for Triumph and a perfect car to bolster Triumph’s US image. This specific Triumph TR2 is in brilliant condition. The stickers from taking part in the last Mille Miglia are still on the car. The car has successfully taken part in quite a few classic rallies. The car is Fiva certificated (the actual certificate is included in the documentation pack) as well as having a FIA Heritage Certificate. The TR2 is in top-quality condition. The car has been very well maintained and has been with the current owner since 2012. The car was restored in the past and re-sprayed in the Uni white finish she still has. The paintwork is still in very good condition with only a few light blemishes. The bodywork is also in very neat shape, the lovely original panels aligning nicely. The TR2’s lovely blue hood is in very good condition. The undamaged hood shuts securely and the matching inset windows are in the same style, in keeping with the rest of the hood and again in very good condition. The interior trim is wonderful. The blue leather contrasts beautifully with the white lacquer. The leather has been correctly looked after and is completely free from wear and tear. The carpets are also in very good order. The dashboard has a the same blue leather covering as the seats and the Smith counters are all in good working order. Mechanically this TR2 has been very well maintained. Before it took part in the last Mille Miglia in 2017, the car was thoroughly serviced. Besides the thorough service the car was checked for potential problems in order to prevent unforeseen events. The car comes with an impressive amount of documents with recent invoices and papers from its sojourn in the UK. The car took part in the Mille Miglia on no less than four occasions in 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2017. Besides this it has also taken part in the Targa Florio and Winter Trial. This is a perfect car to rally. The car is comfortable enough and thanks to the 2.1 engine the TR4 is powerful enough to travel extended distances. The engine delivers some 150 of horse power coupled to a 4-speed gearbox. This Triumph TR2 is always a perfect choice and will deliver many miles of classic driving pleasure. Will you take her for a Sunday afternoon trip or enter the Mille Miglia. Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975! About Triumph
Triumph, a name synonymous with classic sports cars and innovative designs, has a rich and storied history in the automotive world.

The Triumph story began in the late 19th century when the company originally produced bicycles and then expanded into motorcycles. However, it was in the 1920s that Triumph ventured into the production of automobiles. Over the years, Triumph became renowned for its high-quality vehicles that combined performance with style.

One of Triumph's most iconic models was the TR3, introduced in the late 1950s. It was a classic British sports car, loved for its simple yet elegant design and thrilling driving experience. The TR3 was a symbol of affordable sports car enjoyment, and it set the stage for a series of successful TR models, including the TR4, TR5, and TR6.

In addition to sports cars, Triumph made a name for itself with Michelotti-designed sedans. The Triumph Herald, introduced in the early 1960s, was a compact family car that boasted stylish design and solid engineering. Later on, the Triumph 2000 and 2500 sedans catered to a more upscale market and earned a reputation for their comfortable rides and elegant looks.

However, despite its successes, Triumph faced numerous challenges over the years, including financial difficulties and ownership changes. In the 1980s, British Leyland, the company that owned Triumph, underwent significant restructuring, and the Triumph brand was gradually phased out.

The demise of Triumph was indeed sad and, to some extent, disgraceful. The company that had produced beloved sports cars and well-regarded sedans was slowly fading away. In 1984, the last Triumph-badged car rolled off the production line, marking the end of an era.

Although the Triumph name disappeared, its legacy lives on. Enthusiasts and collectors continue to cherish classic Triumph sports cars like the TR3, TR6, and Spitfire, as well as the unique charm of Triumph sedans. Triumph remains a symbol of British automotive heritage and the enduring appeal of classic sports cars.

In conclusion, Triumph's history is a blend of classic sports car excellence and innovative sedan design. Its sad and disgraceful demise serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by many automakers over the years, but the spirit of Triumph lives on in the hearts of automotive enthusiasts around the world.
