But this roadster pickup also doesn't lose its classic heritage. It's nicely integrated into the details. For example, this may have a hot rod look with the larger rear tires, but the full package utilizes classic red steelies and two-piece trim. The interior is a full custom setup with the kind of saddle leather that would make a new F-150 King Ranch jealous. So we're glad it stays on display in this roadster for everyone to see. There are thoughtful details for added comfort, like cup holders, seatbelts, and a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner with aux input. The power windows make for a quick and easy wind buffer if you take this cruiser up to highway speeds. And it really is meant to be a driver. That's why you have upgrades like the banjo-style wood-rimmed steering wheel, a tilt column, and a full set of dolphin gauges.

When you look in the engine bay, the smooth color-matched inner walls, flame-etched valve covers, polished details, and big air grabber are exactly what you want to see in such a custom vehicle. But beyond the style is the substance of a hardy 350 cubic-inch Chevy V8 with later-style center-bolt covers. It has nice power upgrades like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake, and headers feeding the dual exhaust. You'll even spot good supporting components like an HEI distributor, an electric fan, and upgraded pulleys. It makes for a strong powerhouse that's part of an overall upgraded driver. As you look underneath, you'll see an updated frame with an independent front end. There's also a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Add in power steering, power brakes, and front discs, and you can see this roadster pickup is ready for far more than just trips to the beach.
