The larger D-code "Thunderbird Special" 312 cubic-inch V8 with four-barrel carburetor was a nice option in '57. This one was ordered with the larger motor, and it's still believed to carry that displacement today. Plus, it looks thoroughly correct with the bright red block, pie dish air topper w/factory decal, and iconic Thunderbird logo valve covers from the factory dress-up kit. It's a true personal luxury vehicle, so the torque of the V8 is well paired with the Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes for an easy cruiser.
