Allgemeine Beschreibung : An incredibly rare and stylish classic 2+2 grand tourer with links to motorsport royalty, and which has previously been put through its paces by Valentino Balboni.Powered by a 3.9-litre naturally aspirated V12, producing 365bhp and driving the rear wheels via an engaging five-speed manual transmission.During the seller’s ownership, the car has been cosmetically and mechanically refurbished, with work including a full respray, an interior retrim and a gearbox rebuild. One of only 152 Jarama S (or ‘GTS’) models built, this example was sold new to an owner in Monza in 1974, and has been owned by a number of notable figures and enthusiasts, including racing driver and Ensign F1 team partner Chuck Jones and Californian Lamborghini restorer Gary Bobileff – the latter buying the car from legendary racer Dan Gurney. While in Chuck Jones’ ownership, it was allegedly used by Formula 1 driver Clay Regazzoni while signed to the Ensign team. It is reported that he had the factory fit a shorter differential ratio to improve its performance on steep alpine roads. This reported history was confirmed by Balboni, who is a friend of the fourth owner – prominent architect and Lamborghini collector Terry Tusher – and he has previously driven this car while holidaying with Tusher.EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONSAn ‘S’-specification model, this Jarama comes equipped with the reworked exhaust system, heads and carburettors, giving it a claimed power output of 365bhp in period. Cosmetic features include the distinctive NACA bonnet vents and repositioned indicators. It rides on the correct set of 15-inch, five-bolt Campagnolo alloy wheels, which are in great shape. The car will be accompanied by copies of its factory build documents, an A4 copy of its driver’s manual, a prior report from Californian car dealer Fantasy Junction which details the car’s excellent condition, and numerous receipts for maintenance and repairs carried out during the seller’s 11 years of ownership. The original service booklet and book wallet are also present, with maintenance stamps from the supplying dealer and the factory.CONDITIONWhile there is documentation of some minor damage to a rear wing in the car’s past, the bodywork is now straight and unmarked.During the seller’s ownership, the car has been treated to a full, glass-out respray. As a result, the Grigio Londra metallic finish is in excellent condition, with only a few very minor blemishes around the vehicle. All of the chrome trim has also been re-plated, and the rubber door, window and bumper seals have been replaced.Inside, this Jarama S is in superb order, thanks in part to a complete retrim and replacement of its carpets.Minor faults include an inoperative air-conditioning system, a faulty radio and an issue with one of the door locks. There are no known mechanical faults. While it is exempt due to its age, the car’s last MOT test was conducted on 20 April 2018 at 121,941km, which resulted in a clean, first-time pass. The car has been in storage since then.SERVICE HISTORYDuring the vendor’s ownership, the differential has been rebuilt to the original ratio, the gearbox has been rebuilt, and the brakes have been refurbished including two new servos. The carburettors and ignition system have also been attended to and calibrated correctly. After being in storage for 3-4 years, the car has had its engine oil replaced and spark plugs cleaned, and started up easily.SUMMARYBacked by captivating provenance and offered for sale by a dedicated marque enthusiast, this Lamborghini Jarama S is a stunning example of the rare grand tourer.

Akt 3: Die Wegweisenden Modelle (1960er-1970er Jahre)
