Description : Gateway Classis Cars of Dallas is pleased to present This 1999 Plymouth Prowler, which has been customized over every square inch with top-of-the-line Harley Davidson matte black paint to be like no other car you've seen before. Add in some cool pinstripe work, Lambo doors, and those smoked lenses, and the result is the most dynamic Prowler on the market. So while it's a speed machine, don't be surprised if you're driving slow because crowds have gathered around it to take a closer peek.

It all starts with the body on this one. Coat after coat of Harley Davidson flat black paint was applied over the factory bodywork, and the result is a high-end finish with nary a blemish to speak of. Custom red pinstripe work in a few subtle spots does just enough to off-set all that black finish and consequently helps it pop that much more. And if you like the paint as much as we do, you'll love to know there is a custom color-matched soft-top that was recently installed for the car, too. And while that's part of the terrific first impression, it's far from the only piece to get upgraded. Those odd-looking federally mandated bumpers have disappeared up front, giving the car a very smooth front end that was the point of the original Prowler design before the government stepped in, and outback the bumpers were painted to match the body for a cohesive look. Upfront you'll also see a custom billet grille, those aforementioned smoked headlights, and terrific chrome and polished additions to the suspension. Plus, the Prowler's intimidating stance has been amplified by adding a custom, one-off 'Moon Eyes' wheel covers that give this modern classic a vintage Mad Max look that we absolutely love.

When you open the factory handles, you'll instantly see that this Prowler has been custom fitted with Lamborghini-style door hinges for the coolest entryway into the car ever invented. And as a plus, they give you an even better view of the custom interior. The black leather seats are stitched with red thread to match the exterior look, and the suede inserts feel great and add a touch of luxury inside. Of course, everything was standard in Plymouth's flagship, from A/C and power windows/locks to keyless entry and a massive sound system that fills the cabin with sound via Double Din multimedia player that was custom fit into the middle console. Retro styling cues include the center-mounted instrument panel that has a color-matched matte bezel that looks especially dramatic, and the 3-spoke steering wheel is full of modern features. The idea is that this is an OEM hot rod with everything fully engineered for the modern world and fully functional, and it just works. Airbags, seatbelts, and all the bells and whistles truly make the Prowler a no-compromises hot rod. There's even a snug-fitting convertible top with a clear rear window and defroster that stashes below the rear deck for a truly sleek look. With those giant rear tires, there's not a lot of trunk space but does it really matter when the car looks this good?

Chrysler's corporate 3.5 liters 24-valve V6 with factory-rated 253 horsepower is a snug fit in the pointed engine bay, but given the car's lightweight structure, it delivers entertaining performance. And this one has been kicked up a notch, with a re-mapped computer, K&N high-flow intake, and BDO headers and racing exhaust providing extra horses and a throaty soundtrack. Packed in there are all the factory bells and whistles plus fuel injection and distributor-less ignition, so it always starts and runs, and fuel economy is impressive if you stay out of the loud pedal. The 4-speed automatic transmission was the first installation of Chrysler's "Auto Stick" setup, which allows manual shifting on the fly, and the all-independent suspension soaks up bumps better than any buggy spring setup ever could. Four-wheel discs with ABS are confidence-inspiring. Finishing off the look are those awesome 'Moon Eyes' wheel covers, and they adorn a set of big-and-little Goodyear radials with plenty of treads left.
