Porsche 911 / 997 997 GT3 Cup Stunning condition, only 37 hours on t 2006

Allgemeine Beschreibung : This is extremely rare. A Porsche 997 GT3 with a German letter and in the very best shape. The letter means that not much would be needed to register this Porsche with a number plate. This is Allessandro Zampredi’s old car he used in the 2006 Porsche 997 Cup. He drove for the Lechner Racing formation. The Porsche 997 GT3 Cup is an absolute beast. Weighing only 1,150 kg it has 400 Ps and a sequential six-speed gearbox. This is an out and out racing car, the best Porsche could give in 2006. What really makes this car special and stand out amongst similar cars is its condition. The engine for starters has only done 37 hours and even still has the original Porsche seal. The car was supplied by Porsche Centrum in Leipzig and is one of only 195 Cup cars Porsche built for the 2006 season. But now for the most remarkable fact. After the 2006 season, the car disappeared into a collection, never to be driven thereafter. Usually what happens is that these kinds of cars lead a heavy life in the hands of lesser gods and in less prestigious race classes. This example just stood being pretty in a heated garage and is pristine. Zampredi became champion in 2005 and was given car number 1 in 2006. Unfortunately, the 2006 season did work out so well for him. He only made the podium once with a second place in the States. After the season ended the wrap was removed from the bodywork, leaving her now gleaming in her lovely “Carrera Weiss” tailored suit. The outside appearance is completed by the large splitter, the enormous rear spoiler with its Gurney Flap and the iconic 3-part centre-lock BBS rims that are filled by the enormous brakes and shod in Michelin rain tyres. The front brakes have 6 pistons whilst the rear one have 4 pistons fitted, delivering massive brake power as well as being a fantastic sight. All the windows have been replaced with Lexan ones for safety reasons. The car has an inbuilt air-powered jack system. All the suspension rubbers have been replaced with steel uniballs. The car also has a 90-litre fuel tank. The adaptions to this GT3 racer are practically endless. Porsche delivered, as it always does, top craftsmanship. On the inside, this Porsche is exactly as it should be in a racing car: spartan and functional. The standard gauges have been replaced with a central Motec data logger. The usual short gearstick has been replaced by a longer one for ease of use with the sequential gearbox. The usual fairly large leather steering wheel has been replaced with a 3-spoke OMP steering wheel. Naturally, the interior is dominated by the fully FIA approved roll-cage. The car still has the carbon OMP seat Zampredi used. The complete fibreglass doors help keep the car’s weight down. This 911 comes with an extensive amount of documentation. Earlier this year it had a major service costing € 2,300 as detailed in the invoice. Furthermore, the papers are there to allow the car to be entered into a competition, an extensive technical manual and lots of provenance underwriting this Cup car’s unique history. This is an out and out racing car, ready to race once more, be it competitive or “just” on track days. The option with a few modifications is also there to enable road registration so it can for example take part in rallies. To be honest the car is too good for that and deserves to be added to a collection. This is a wonderful and unique Porsche 997 GT3 Cup with a brilliant provenance and in the kind of condition, you won't find in any other one!
