The 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe coupe is already a very in-demand vehicle, especially when the flathead V8 is paired with a manual transmission. So rarely are you going to find one that is both turn-key ready and so period correct.
This is one of those cars with a great story. It was purchased new less then 100 miles from our showroom. When the first owner went to trade it in, she was offered so little that she instead just parked it in her garage (so we believe the odometer could reflect the accurate mileage.) Her neighbor's son grew up admiring this Club Coupe, and she eventually gave it to him. While he did not get around to restoring his dream car, the next owner accomplished this about a decade ago. We know exactly why this was a car to be admired for years. The Club Coupe body is one of the most sought-after from this era. Ford first post-war design looks best with the long trunk that gives it good overall proportions. More than just look great, they were more expensive than the sedans when new, and that keeps them desirable today. That's why you want a quality one like this. Everything you want is in place – from the special bullet-nose grille, to the full-length side trim, to the two-piece wheels with whitewall tires. In fact, this one is correct, right down to the fender skirts. So to have all of this wrapped in a gloss black presentation makes it a highly desirable coupe.
Inside, everything is quite correct, and it looks like there have been investments to keep it that way. For example, the cloth seating has the right pattern for a '50s machine, but you can instantly tell by the condition that this is a far fresher application. The Custom Deluxe line's correct two-spoke steering wheel with bright trim is pure 1950s space-race cool. In fact, the whole dash stays true to the original, including gauges like the speedometer and clock. You even still have the AM radio on display to complete the correct-looking dash.
The period-correct presentation continues under the hood. The 239 cubic-inch flathead V8 is showcased in glowing bronze. The engine bay is nicely detailed with the correct oil-bath air cleaner, and the radiator hoses are so crisp, they look like they are diving into the motor. But more than just looking good, the flathead is a great engine for enjoying classic motoring. A glasspack on the exhaust gives you a little extra rumble, and the three-speed manual transmission lets you control that soundtrack while also giving it a powerful feeling around town, if you so desire.

Efter kriget Ford bilar i USA blev större och flashier tillsammans med sina konkurrenter. I 60: s Ford var tillbaka i förgrunden igen när man inför deras kommersiella hit Mustang 1964. Mustang var så populär tävlingen var tvungen att följa Fords exempel och ponycar fenomenet tog över USA. Under åren ponnyer växte några muskler tills oljekrisen döda äntligen dödat dem.

På sextiotalet rusade Ford i internationell motorsport scenen med en raseri. Efter misslyckade Ferrari övertagande, då Enzo Ferrari hade klippt affären av med Henry Ford II gör det senare absolut koka av vrede, vände Ford till Lola i Storbritannien för att producera en Ferrari slog långdistans racer efter. Samarbetet mellan Ford och Lola skapade den mäktiga Ford GT40 som absolut slog Ferrari i Le Mans 24 flera gånger.

I Europa införde Ford några av de mest episka race och rallybilar av 60-talet som bygger på ödmjuka familj sedaner; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, och Escort 1600RS med de ikoniska Cosworth BDA motorer.
