Citroen DS 21 Pallas 1972
General description :
Das Spitzenmodell der D-Modell Baureihe erschien im September 1969 mit einer elektronischen Einspritzung von BOSCH. Damit leistete der inzwischen schon wegen seiner großen Zuverlässigkeit bekannte Motor der DS21 statt 104 PS nun 120 PS. Mit dem langen 5-Gang Getriebe erhöhte sich die Spitzengeschwindigkeit auf 187km/h. Damit war die DS die damals schnellste Limousine aus französischer Produktion.
Ein Citroën-Sammler in der Provence fand diese DS 21 inj. Pallas abgestellt in einer Garage. Die inzwischen verstorbene Witwe hatte den Wagen Ihres Mannes nie verkaufen wollen. Nun war sie auch verstorben.-
Er kaufte den Wagen und restaurierte ihn. Die benötigten Ersatzteile kaufte er bei uns. Chassis und Karosserie waren, dank des bekannt trockenen Klimas, immer noch hervorragend erhalten.
Er zerlegte, reinigte und restaurierte. Zum Abschluss wurde die Göttin neu in der Farbe "bleu d'orient" (Orientblau) neu lackiert. Das Dach sollte gris nacré (Perlmuttgrau) werden, denn viele DS der Sechziger waren 2-fabrig, wie es heute wieder en vogue ist.
Nachdem er die DS fertig hatte, lud er mich ein, um sie voller stolz über das gelungene Resultat zu präsentieren.

About Citroen
French industrialist André Citroën had been building arms for the French army during WWI by the end of the war he was left with great industrial facilities but no product for the post war market. In 1919 he founded Citroen that became the first mass-production car company outside the USA[3] and a pioneer of the modern marketing as well as factory backed services network. Mind you, even Eiffel Tower served as a billboard for Citroën from 1925 to 1934 -Mon Dieu, monsier!
Soon Citroën earned a reputation for innovation and revolutionary engineering. Staying true to their slogan "Créative Technologie" Citroën has many "firsts" under their belt:
