Ford Anglia ZZ4 1948

General description : 1948 Ford Anglia Custom The Anglia was created as a compact car manufactured by Ford UK and was produced between 1939 and 1967.  When designing their compact car I doubt Ford had any inclination that the result would someday be a unique classic that is a common target when building a pro street car.  The smaller bodies are less weight while also still providing a very cool vintage look.  Even better is shoving some wide meats under the rear and making them spin.  Don't let that scare you though because although it has the right look for the track this very nice Anglia Custom was built to be a streetable show car.  The car runs well around town and cruises down the highway fine.  The body is in good shape and painted a bright light Blue.  It has no problems standing out and gets a ton of attention wherever it goes.   The body is steel but the tilt front end has been replaced with fiberglass.  It sits on a boxed chassis and is rust free throughout.  The custom grill on the nose looks good as do the tear drop taillights in the rear.  The car has a great stance with a slight forward rake and just looks extremely tough even when it is sitting still.  The Weld Racing wheels complete the look perfectly and the tubbed rear makes plenty of room for the 18.5x36 Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires.  Flip forward that tilt hood and you will expose the fresh, just installed ZZ4 crate motor.  It has had 250 miles put on it since installed and runs extremely well.  It has plenty of power and has been nicely dressed up with finned valve covers and finned air cleaner.  Other nice add ons include the MSD ignition.  The car has a great sound through the Sanderson headers into dual exhaust that exits out of the rear.  Paired with the engine is a 4 speed hydraulic clutch Muncie transmission and 9 inch Ford rear end.  The suspension is complete with a torsion bar front end and ladder bar setup in rear with coilovers.  The car is extremely fun to drive and would keep highway cruisers and speed demons both happy.    The interior is done in a combo of Gray and Black.  The high back racing seats fit nicely in place with Black covers.  If you ever decided you wanted to make it more of a track car the 6 point roll cage is sure to keep you safe.  The dash has a unique setup with the gauges with the white faced gauges angled towards the driver.  This gives you a clear view versus having to look through the tilt steering wheel.  An Autometer tach has also been added and is mounted over the dash.  The Pioneer AM/FM/CD player delivers a good sound and the car also features a power sun roof which is also a pretty unique feature.  The windows are all power operated and the switches located on the door panels.  In the trunk you will find the relocated battery with a cutoff switch.  If you are ready to have some fun in a great looking car for a great price then look no further.  Not only is it a unique car that stands out but it was well built and has a new motor that should be reliable for many years to come.  Make it yours for $28,750.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
