Ford Custom 350 V8 1938

General description : 1938 Ford Custom While the 1938 Ford retained a similar bodystyle to the previous year the Deluxe model was modified with a more heart shaped grill vs the Standard that stayed the same.  These cars make a great base for a Street Rod due to their unique look and great stance.  This 1938 Coupe has a great look and has been very nicely modified.  It is painted in a nice custom Purple paint which pairs well with a lot of the original style stainless which is also in great shape.  The car has some pretty cool accents where they took the stainless and slightly modified it with Purple accents.  You will note these on the V8 logo on the nose and the deck lid handle.  The glass is all good as well with a 2 piece windshield up front.  The electrical is all working correctly and it has the tear drop style taillights with blue dot centers.  It also has a 3rd LED taillight incorporated under the split rear window.  The car is riding on a set of 5 spoke Weld Racing wheels wrapped with Performance Radial G/T tires. Under the hood is a 350 small block Chevy V8 that was nicely built with a ton of chrome and billet components making it fully show ready.  It is also fitted with an Edelbrock performer RPM intake, Holley carburetor, Milodon oil pan, Mallory distributor, and Taylor wires.  The motor is combined with a 3 speed automatic transmission.  The undercarriage is very cleanly finished out with custom exhaust with custom hangars, braided lines, a cleanly painted frame and a stainless steel tank.  The car is a great driver especially with the front power disc brakes and rack & pinion steering set up.  It also has a fold up license plate for a clean look at car shows.    The interior is all custom as well with dual high back power bucket seats.  They feature a deep Purple upholstery with custom accents and a dash that match the body.  The title column is also matching Purple and topped off with a Banjo steering wheel.  On the dash you will find a full set of Dakota Digital instruments in billet bezels, billet knobs/switches, and inset Vintage AC/Heat controls and adjustable vents.  The doors have been kept very clean with chrome handles and the power window controls.  Overhead is a custom console to house the Audiovox AM/FM/CD player.  The trunk is cleanly upholstered and has a hidden panel which is where you will find the relocated battery, electric fuel pump and access to the Optimus speakers. This is a really solid well built Hot Rod that shows very well and always stands out in a crowd.  This car has been SOLD!  Please check out our other ads!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
