This stunning Ferrari 275 GTB/4 is a very desirable quad cam car with Ferrari Classiche.
The 275 GTB was a two-seater GT introduced in 1964 with production running through to 1968. It was powered by a 3.3 litre Colombo V-12 engine which produced 280 hp. The standard 275 GTB coupe came with 3 or 6 Weber twin-choke carburettors and a Series Two version with a longer nose appeared in 1965. A much updated GTB/4 version was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in October 1966, which had revised bodywork and came with a reworked 300 hp engine, still with two valves per cylinder but now with four camshafts and six carburettors as standard. The transaxle was also redesigned with a torque tube connecting the engine and transmission, which greatly improved the handling, noise, and vibration levels.
The example offered here is one of the 350 GTB/4s produced and was delivered new to Italy in 1967. It was sold via the Perugia dealer Romeo Pedini to a Marino Mignimi on May 9th. Sr Mignimi kept the car for just over a year before selling it to its second owner Giuseppe Zappala on August 23rd 1968. Factory records show that it was serviced at the Ferrari Factory Assistenza Clienti in Modena on April 14th 1969 at which time the odometer showed 21,655 km. The car remained in Italy with Sr Zappala until September 15th 1972 when it was sold through dealer Dino Armando Genghini and exported to the USA. The next record shows the car in the possession of an Iowa-based surgeon, Dr Olivencia, in 1984 who eventually passed it on to Lawrence Simon of Pennsylvania. Mr Simon was a serious Ferrari enthusiast and exhibited the car at numerous concours events across the US including the 26th, 27th and 28th Annual Ferrari Club of America National Meetings where the car placed 1st in class three years running.
Acquired by its current owner a few years ago it has subsequently benefitted from a full JD Classics restoration and now presents beautifully in Grigio Ferro Metallizzato with Red interior. With all Numbers Matching the vehicle's factory data sheet and accompanied by an original tool roll, full set of books and Ferrari Classiche it offers an exceptional opportunity to acquire a properly restored and highly desirable quad cam 275 with excellent provenance. Den första Ferrari väg bil var de 125 S introducerades 1947 och drivs av en 1,5 L V12 motor, eller hur?
Tja det är inte riktigt så enkelt, Ferrari faktiskt producerar e Tipo 815, 1940 Tipo 815 ritades av ex-Alfa Romeo ingenjörer Alberto Massimino och Vittorio Bellentani och Enrico Nardi enligt Enzo sällskap men juridiska frågor med det tidigare intresse Alfa Romeo hindrade Ferrari från att lansera Ferrari marque vid den punkten.

Enzo fick fram en rad fina väg bilar på 50-talet och 60-talet, men de var bara för att finansiera sin passion racing, väder GT / Sportbil eller Grand Prix. 50-talet såg födelsen av Ferraris mest minnesvärda bilar, 250 GTB (tour de France) 250 Testa Rossa, 250 GT SWB bara för att nämna några.

Under ytspänningen växte dock. I November 1961 erfaren försäljningschef Girolamo Gardini gjorde ett ultimatum till Enzo: om spänningar fortsatte skulle han lämna företaget. Som ett resultat var Gardini avsattes, liksom Scuderia Ferrari manager Romolo Tavoni, överingenjör Carlo Chiti, experimentell sportbil utveckling chief Giotto Bizzarrini, och ett antal andra, som stod vid dem.
Utan Chiti och Bizzarrini utvecklingen av vad som skulle bli den mest kvintessensen Ferrari och idag världens dyraste bil, 250 GTO, var vid en svängpunkt. 250 GTO projekt räddades av en ung ingenjör Mauro Forghieri och lång tid racing bodyman Sergio Scaglietti som klev in och tog över programmet med kända resultat.

I slutet av 60-talet Ferraris prototyper framgång fick ett abrupt stopp av en ny konkurrent, GT40. Ford vände sig till Lola för att producera en Ferrari slog långdistans racer efter Enzo hade klippt affären av med Henry Ford II gör det senare absolut koka av vrede. Samarbetet mellan Ford och Lola skapade den mäktiga Ford GT40 som gav Ferrari några tunga hits i Le Mans 24 framöver.
I slutet av 60-talet FIAT köpte 50% av bolaget, med start en utveckling som har lett till en ny massproducerade era av Ferraris.
