The Triumph TR250 is a lovely car in every aspect. In our case, it has been married up with a fantastic drive. It will be immediately obvious at first glance that this is no normal Triumph TR250. In 1968this Triumph was supplied new in the States and in 2001 ended up in Europe. When it arrived in Europe the TR250 was prepared to participate in classic rallies. Whilst the former may lead you to believe that this car had led a heavy life, nothing is further from the truth. Inspection underneath the car we see a totally rust-free chassis in fine order. The car looks great and is technically very sound. The bodywork has clean and correctly aligned panelwork. The car has been re-sprayed and is still neat with some signs of use. The interior has been adapted for long days behind the wheel. It has good fitting bucket seats with headrests, a trip computer and a map reading light. A roll cage was fitted to enhance the safety and sturdiness of the bodywork. The road-holding has been improved with good quality tyres and shocks. Furthermore larger 4-piston brake callipers have been fitted as well an oil cooler. Nighttime stages are lit up by the two front spotlights. The standard Triumph TR250 delivers 111 PS. This car’s engine has been completely overhauled and rebuilt. This very fit engine now delivers 139 PS with a smooth supply of its torque. This increase has been achieved by using three perfectly tuned double Weber carburettors, porting the cylinder heads and fitting a complete stainless steel exhaust system. The car runs and sounds fantastic. The sound of the 2.5-litre straight-six sounds great up front thanks to the carburettor induction sound and superb at the rear courtesy of the stainless steel sports exhaust. These upgrades make this car an utter joy to drive Going back to the time the car reached Europe there is a separate file detailing all maintenance. All work carried out has been nicely specified with detailed worksheets and invoices.
